Block Out hard boards mix scaffold collapses, boss-bar countdowns, stacked-bar extraction, and tall-frame packing. Touching the shiny center polyomino first is how most runs strand a 7-counter or lock block behind a still-closed frame.
Of 150 published levels, hard and expert stages make up the bulk of the late catalog. Counter arithmetic and peel order matter as much as color matching.
1. Dismantle scaffolds before the center prize
Level 14 is a scaffold-collapse board: the big center tile is the reward for dismantling the border. Use the right white lane before the bottom yellow exit, and wait until the frame opens on multiple sides before moving the 7-counter block.
If the center still cannot move, a border still owns it. Keep peeling the frame.
2. Pay countdown taxes early
Level 55 hides a reveal under a boss-bar countdown. Four cyan 4-counters on the right cost 16 total passes through the exit—start them early or the bar never finishes in time.
Do not poke the revealed yellow layer until the counters are under control. The reveal is bait while the tax is unpaid.
3. Peel stacked bars top to bottom only
Level 81’s full-width bars only slide vertically. Sideways thinking does nothing. Clear the center lock block before attempting lower extractions.
A strict top-to-bottom peel keeps the stack from wedging. Skipping a middle bar to grab a lower color is the usual soft lock.
4. Break connected polyominoes as one unit
Level 110 packs a tall frame around a highlighted center pocket and a red polyomino that is one connected obstacle. Break it as one shape; splitting early creates immovable stubs.
Clear left-rail high counters before sliding bottom-cluster pieces into the pocket.
Levels worth studying
These Block Out boards cover scaffolds, countdown taxes, vertical peels, and tall-frame packing. Block Out study links never exceed the live level ceiling.
- Level 14 — Scaffold-collapse board where the center tile waits on a multi-side frame.
- Level 55 — Boss-bar countdown with four cyan 4-counters that cost 16 passes.
- Level 81 — Stacked full-width bars that only peel top to bottom.
- Level 110 — Tall-frame packing with a connected red polyomino obstacle.
- Level 149 — Four-quadrant Super Hard board whose counters shrink as bottom-tray pieces lock in.
5. Check pass budgets after every fail
Failed hard Block Out runs often had the right colors and the wrong pass budget. Recount counters before the next attempt.
Use the 150 Block Out guides and 150 videos when a stacked-bar order is unclear from a static board.
Common bad opening moves
- Touching the center prize before the scaffold opens.
- Leaving cyan countdown blocks for the end.
- Trying to slide full-width bars sideways.
- Splitting a connected red polyomino into stuck stubs.
A 30-second hard level routine
- Open multi-side frame exits first.
- Start the largest countdown counters immediately.
- Peel full-width bars strictly top to bottom.
- Treat center polyominoes as single obstacles.
- Recount remaining passes before speculative slides.

How to Beat Hard Block Out Levels FAQ
-
What should I move first on hard Block Out levels?
Frame openers and high-count counters, not the center prize tile.
-
Why do countdown boards feel impossible?
Because counter taxes were delayed. Start multi-hit cyan blocks immediately.
-
Can full-width bars slide sideways?
On stacked-bar boards like Level 81, no—peel them vertically only.
-
How do I handle connected polyominoes?
Break them as one unit instead of chipping random cells.
